Pastor Todd and Gena Lugli, Founders HKI
Pastor Todd Lugli began with a vision to take the Gospel the nations and minister to the “whole man”– body, soul and spirit. In 2009, his vision led him to found Happy Kids International. Before working in Haiti, Todd spent many years traveling around the world with his family with an extended stay in Colombia, South America to minister. Since coming to Haiti, Pastor Todd has worked to provide safe places for orphans during hardships, food, clean water and provided needed medical services.
Gena serves as the Executive Administrator for HKI, working closely with Missions Director Pastor Alan Bailey to ensure that all of our personnel have the resources to accomplish their mission. A talented minister in song, she leads worship and serves as a mentor to other musicians all throughout the world.
Todd and his wife Gena have four kids and all of which consider Happy Kids International a family ministry. They are blessed by the many domestic and international volunteers who continually give up their time and resources to make this ministry work.
Mac-Alain, Co-Founder HKI
Mac-Alain (Marc) is our Haitian Co-Founder of Happy Kids International. He has faithfully served with HKI since it’s inception. A lifelong resident of Haiti, he acts as a cultural liaison for Non-Haitian leadership, adding valuable knowledge and insight to many situations we face in our mission of serving the beautiful people of Haiti. Mac-Alain is married and has two children, all who immigrated to Canada 3.5 years ago for educational opportunities. He will soon immigrate to Canada to join his family with the plans of joining his wife in obtaining his degree in Nursing with plans of returning to Haiti to serve.
Pastor Alan & Jennifer Bailey, Mission Director HKI
Pastor Alan Bailey currently serves as Mission Director for HKI in Haiti. He and his wife are experienced ministers having served in every capacity, from Janitor to Senior Pastors. They bring this experience and knowledge to assist our mission in Haiti. Their passion for the mentoring and discipleship of young people fits the vision of HKI like a glove. Pastor Alan has served previously on the board of HKI and has an intimate knowledge of our organization on many levels. When not traveling in country on a nearly monthly basis, the Baileys also do itinerant speaking on behalf of HKI and as evangelists. They have 3 children who all have a heart for Haiti and all of TEAM BAILEY considers HKI part of their extended family.

Alfred, Mountain Director
If you look up the definition of the word amazing, you may very well find a picture of this man next to it. A talented captain at sea, Alfred is the director of all our outreach in the southern peninsula villages of Haiti, as well as the captain of our boat, SMILE 1. He manages our peanut farm and grows bananas as well. Alfred lives in the village of Kafeyè, near the port city of Pestel. He is married and has 6 children.
Antoine, Staff Member
Antoine’s story is a pretty amazing one. Known as someone who can “get things done”, Happy Kids began for him as just a way to provide for his son. After working with HKI and experiencing the culture and authenticity of our staff, Antoine made a decision to accept Jesus as his savior. His understanding of scripture has grown and has made him one of the favorites at the morning devotionals to give insight and real world perspective in discussions.
Sincere, Staff Member
Sincere serves as our Center for Hope, security lead. It is his direct responsibility to ensure the safety and security of our complex. Formerly working in a local school, he applies his knowledge of policies and procedures in the execution of his daily responsibilities as well as enjoys assisting in our Kid’s Klub Fond Doux.
Son-Son is a local young man who has made the decision to serve as a disciple in HKI in our mission to reach the people of Haiti. He works alongside our staff on a daily basis, receiving daily meals, mentoring and discipleship which teach our ideology in service as well as culture of ministry. A craftsman as well as talented livestock manager, after his season serving as a disciple, he will become a vital part of our staff in the future as HKI moves closer to self sustainment through various farming and livestock programs we are soon to launch.
Jerry is a local young man who began as a day laborer on various projects we hire out throughout the year. Haiti has an 85% unemployment rate, not because people do not want to work, but because jobs are scarce. Jerry wanted to provide for his family, but he also has a dream of being an engineer, which requires an education. HKI allowed Jerry to work off the cost of a semester of secondary school tuition in order to assist him achieve this goal.
After he proved his determination, we offered and he accepted the opportunity to serve as a disciple in HKI in our mission to reach the people of Haiti. After his classes each day, he comes and works alongside our staff on a daily basis, receiving daily meals, mentoring and discipleship which teach our ideology in service as well as culture of ministry.
Wilson, The Ti Wa Tipha
Wilson is the youngest member of our team, and the adopted Haitian son of Founders Pastor Todd & Gena. Due to immigration issues, he is currently unable to come to the United States, so he lives with missionaries Brian & Sandy… meaning he is blessed to have 2 sets of parental figures! He loves to help on all the projects that we have going all the time and is a great help in translating and outreaches to children. We are all very excited to see what the future holds for this young man.
